RomMWhat you're getting
This is a private library for the retro game files you own. It runs RomM, the open source ROM manager: upload your games and firmware, and it scans them, works out which game each file is and fills in box art, screenshots, descriptions and release details, so a folder of oddly named files becomes a library you can browse by platform.
Many systems play straight in the browser through the built in EmulatorJS player, with save files and save states kept on your server. You can make collections, track what you have finished, invite friends or family with their own accounts and roles, and connect handheld frontends and other tools through the API.
On CoreHost the database and cache the library needs run inside the same app, so there is nothing else to set up. The admin account is created with a generated password before your library first answers, so nobody else can claim it. Metadata sources that need your own keys, such as IGDB, ScreenScraper, MobyGames, SteamGridDB and RetroAchievements, are optional settings in the panel. It is hosted in Sydney or Poland, with daily backups and SFTP access; encrypted backups are stored in the EU.
You bring your own game files. CoreHost hosts the software only, and you need the right to every file you upload.
RomM is an independent open source project by the RomM team, released under the AGPL-3.0 licence. This listing runs the unmodified RomM code. CoreHost is an independent host and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the RomM project. RomM website, Source code and licence.

Moving to CoreHostMove your existing RomM here
Already running RomM on PikaPods, a VPS or your own server? You can bring your data with you. Deploy the app here first, then follow the route below, and keep your old app until you are happy.
Tell us what you are moving
Copy your game library over SFTP into romm/library/roms/ using RomM's own platform folder names such as snes, gba or psx. Users, collections and save data live in the database, so moving an existing RomM is a database load plus a secret key: open a ticket.
Ways to move it
- Do it yourself. Deploy RomM, let it start once, then use the steps on this page, with SFTP and the file manager in the Files tab. A backup taken first gives you a clean point to go back to.
- Ask us to move it. Open a ticket from your control panel with the app and where it runs now. Support will tell you what can be moved and help you do it, and nobody touches your old app.
Coming from PikaPods? Switch on SFTP in the pod's settings, stop the pod and copy its files; PikaPods documents this as its manual backup for migrations.
