Terms of Service

The agreement between you and CoreHost for the use of corehost.io and the services sold on it. Plain English wherever the law allows it.

Introduction

This document is the agreement between you and CoreHost for the use of corehost.io and the services sold on it. Please read it before using our services; it applies to all users unless we have agreed otherwise with you in writing.

We may amend this document from time to time. We will take reasonable steps to notify registered users of material changes, and changes take effect when posted to this page.

Definitions

"CoreHost", "us" or "we" means the operator of corehost.io, an Australian-registered business (ABN 79 556 107 877). "You" means the user, customer or visitor of our website. "Service(s)" means any product, software or other saleable resource we provide, free or paid. An "app" or "instance" means a managed application we run for you on our infrastructure.

1. Registration & Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use our services. We may, at our sole discretion, decline to provide services to any customer. By signing up you agree to be bound by this document and by our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of this agreement. You declare that the information you provide is accurate and kept up to date.

2. The Service

We provide managed hosting of the open-source applications listed in our catalog: we operate the underlying infrastructure, provisioning, TLS, updates, daily backups and monitoring. You operate the application itself and are responsible for its content, its users and its configuration.

The applications we host are open-source software owned by their respective projects and provided under their own licences. Some applications carry upstream licence terms that apply to how you use them; these are noted on the relevant catalog page.

3. Billing & Payments

Payment

Billing is prepaid. You add funds to your account balance by credit or debit card via Stripe, in USD, AUD or EUR, and each app draws its flat monthly price from that balance. Card details never touch our servers. Australian customers receive GST-compliant invoices.

Starting credit

New accounts receive a one-time USD $5 (or currency equivalent) service credit with no card required. Credit has no cash value, is not transferable, and is consumed before your paid balance.

Renewals and cancellation

Apps renew automatically each month from your balance until cancelled. You can cancel any app at any time from the control panel; it will run until the end of the period already paid and will not renew.

Price changes

If we change the price list, apps that already exist keep the pricing in effect when they were created. New pricing applies only to apps created after the change.

Chargebacks

Please contact us before initiating a chargeback. Genuine billing mistakes are fixed quickly and without argument. Accounts that initiate chargebacks without contacting us may be suspended and charged reasonable administration costs we incur.

4. Your Data

Your data is yours. Every instance includes SFTP access and the hosted applications provide standard export functions. Instances and their backups are stored in the region you selected.

After an app is terminated we retain its data, including backups, for 14 days as a recovery safety net, then permanently delete it. See the Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data, and the Acceptable Use Policy for the narrow circumstances in which we access instance contents.

5. Service Levels

We operate a public status page with live service health and incident history. We work to keep availability high and communicate honestly when we fail, but we do not currently publish a contractual uptime percentage; where consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law apply, nothing here limits them.

6. Acceptable Use & Enforcement

Use of our services is subject to the Acceptable Use Policy. Our standard enforcement ladder is notice, 48 hours to remedy, suspension (with data preserved), then termination, except for the serious categories listed in the AUP, which result in immediate suspension.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability under this agreement is capped at the amount you paid us in the current billing period, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of revenue. Nothing in this agreement excludes rights that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

8. Termination

You may close your account at any time from the control panel or by contacting support. We may suspend or terminate services for breach of this agreement or the AUP as described above. Upon account closure, remaining services are cancelled and data is deleted on the 14-day schedule in Section 4. We retain transaction and basic contact records as required for legal and accounting purposes.

9. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. All relevant consumer rights are unaffected, and we comply with applicable Australian law, including the Australian Consumer Law, in providing services to you regardless of your country.
