Where do the audiobooks come from?

From you. Audiobookshelf serves media you own: DRM-free purchases, ripped CDs, podcast feeds. CoreHost hosts your library; acquiring content lawfully is your side of the deal, per the acceptable use policy.

How much storage do I get?

Your tier's NVMe allowance, plus stackable +25 GB storage blocks. A typical audiobook runs 100 to 300 MB, so even Standard with a block or two holds a serious collection.

Can my family use it too?

Yes. Audiobookshelf has per-user accounts with their own progress and permissions. One instance, the whole household.

Who keeps Audiobookshelf updated?

We do. Curated updates roll out shortly after upstream releases and are tested on our platform first; security fixes move fast. If an update changes behaviour in a breaking way, we email you before it lands.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Take a final export or SFTP copy any time before you cancel. After termination we keep your data for 14 days (in case you change your mind), then purge it, backups included.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. Point a CNAME at your instance, prove ownership with a TXT record, and TLS certificates are issued automatically. Cloudflare-proxied domains work; if you use CAA records, allow letsencrypt.org.

Copy your audiobook and podcast folders over SFTP into the audiobooks and podcasts folders. Audiobookshelf stores each library's folder path in its database, so to keep your users and listening progress, open a ticket and bring a backup zip from Settings, Backups on the old server.

Do it yourself. Deploy Audiobookshelf, let it start once, then use the steps on this page, with SFTP and the file manager in the Files tab. A backup taken first gives you a clean point to go back to.
