Kavita turns a folder of comics, manga, EPUBs and PDFs into a fast, good looking digital library. Point it at your files and it builds a browsable collection with cover art, series grouping and metadata, then serves an in browser reader that handles CBZ, CBR, EPUB, PDF and images with continuous scroll, double page spreads, right to left manga mode and remembered progress on every device.
It is built for a household or a small community. Each reader gets their own account, collections and reading lists, and Kavita follows a series to your next unread issue and tracks progress per person. It speaks OPDS too, so you can pull your library straight into an e-reader or a third party reading app and keep your place in sync across phone, tablet and laptop.
We host it in the region you choose as a single lightweight app with an embedded database, so it stays quick and cheap to run, with managed updates and nightly backups. You upload your own files over SFTP and Kavita does the rest.

Copy your files across
Upload your library over SFTP into a folder such as books at the top level of the file area, then point a library at it. Users and reading progress live in Kavita's database; open a ticket if you want them moved too.
Ways to move it
- Do it yourself. Deploy Kavita, let it start once, then use the steps on this page, with SFTP and the file manager in the Files tab. A backup taken first gives you a clean point to go back to.
- Ask us to move it. Open a ticket from your control panel with the app and where it runs now. Support will tell you what can be moved and help you do it, and nobody touches your old app.
Coming from PikaPods? Switch on SFTP in the pod's settings, stop the pod and copy its files; PikaPods documents this as its manual backup for migrations.
