How do I sign in the first time?

Sign in with the admin email and the password shown on your app page on CoreHost. The account is created before the app first starts, so there is no setup screen that the first visitor could use to take it over. Change the password under your profile once you are in.

How do I add my team?

Open the account settings in the app and copy the invitation link. Anyone who has the link can create an account, so send it only to people you want in. Use the reset button next to it to stop old links from working.

Is there a limit on how many people can use it?

There is no per-seat price. The practical limit is the memory and storage of your plan: the Standard plan suits a small team, and attachments count against your storage. You can add storage from the panel.

What can the bots do?

A bot has a key for posting and reading messages through the bot API, and an optional webhook address that receives the messages sent to it. For safety on shared servers, webhook addresses must be public websites: addresses on private networks, this server itself and our other servers are refused, and the bot says so in the room.

I forgot the admin password, what now?

There is no email reset in the app, so open a support ticket from your CoreHost account and we will reset it for you after checking it is your instance.

Does the chat call home?

No error reports are sent to the vendor. Push notifications go through your browser vendor's push service, which is how every web app delivers them, and link previews fetch the pages people paste into a room.

Who keeps Team chat updated?

We do. Curated updates roll out shortly after upstream releases and are tested on our platform first; security fixes move fast. If an update changes behaviour in a breaking way, we email you before it lands.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Take a final export or SFTP copy any time before you cancel. After termination we keep your data for 14 days (in case you change your mind), then purge it, backups included.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. Point a CNAME at your instance, prove ownership with a TXT record, and TLS certificates are issued automatically. Cloudflare-proxied domains work; if you use CAA records, allow letsencrypt.org.

You invite people by sharing a link from the account settings, and you can reset that link whenever you want to close the door.
