Calibre-WebWhat you're getting
Calibre-Web puts your ebook collection in the browser. Every book gets its cover, author, series and tags, you can search and sort the whole library, read in the built in reader, and download each title in the format your device wants. It is the web side of Calibre, the desktop library manager many readers already use.
Your instance starts with an empty library, so it works the moment it boots. Upload EPUB, PDF and comic files from the browser and Calibre-Web reads their metadata and covers, or bring the Calibre library you already have: stop the app, copy the library folder over SFTP, and start it again.
Reading apps connect over OPDS, Kobo e-readers can sync books and reading progress, and everyone in the household gets their own account, shelves and permissions. The library stays private until you decide otherwise, and the admin password is generated for your instance rather than the public default.
CoreHost runs Calibre-Web for you, with TLS, daily backups and updates handled. Upload, anonymous browsing, public registration and Kobo sync are switches in the app's settings on CoreHost, so you never edit a config file.

Moving to CoreHostMove your existing Calibre-Web here
Already running Calibre-Web on PikaPods, a VPS or your own server? You can bring your data with you. Deploy the app here first, then follow the route below, and keep your old app until you are happy.
Copy your files across
Replace the library folder with your existing Calibre library (metadata.db and its author folders) over SFTP while the app is stopped. This moves the library, not Calibre-Web's own users and settings, which you set up again.
Ways to move it
- Do it yourself. Deploy Calibre-Web, let it start once, then use the steps on this page, with SFTP and the file manager in the Files tab. A backup taken first gives you a clean point to go back to.
- Ask us to move it. Open a ticket from your control panel with the app and where it runs now. Support will tell you what can be moved and help you do it, and nobody touches your old app.
Coming from PikaPods? Switch on SFTP in the pod's settings, stop the pod and copy its files; PikaPods documents this as its manual backup for migrations.
