BookOrbit is a self-hosted home for your entire ebook library. Drop EPUB and PDF books onto the server over the web uploader or straight over SFTP, and BookOrbit scans them, pulls in covers and metadata, and lays everything out as a fast, searchable shelf with authors, series and tags. Read in the browser with progress that syncs between devices, track what you have finished and what is next, and pull the whole library into any OPDS-capable reading app.

Running it in an Australian region keeps the library quick to load for local readers, and this managed plan folds the PostgreSQL database that powers the catalogue and full-text search into the same instance so there is nothing extra to run. We handle the database, updates, TLS and nightly backups, so you get the whole BookOrbit stack for a few dollars a month without touching Docker. Because the files stay ordinary EPUBs and PDFs on your own volume, there is never any lock-in.
