Photo libraryWhat you're getting
This is a private photo library for the browser. Point it at your pictures and videos and it builds a searchable library: it reads dates and camera details, finds faces, labels what is in each picture (beach, dog, car), puts photos on a world map and groups them into moments. It runs PhotoPrism Community Edition, the open-source photo app, so your pictures stay in a library you control.
You browse by album, person, place, month or label, search for things like cat 2019 or the name of a city, and share albums through links. Uploads work from the browser, phone sync apps can push new pictures over WebDAV, and RAW files from most cameras, HEIC photos from iPhones and videos are converted for viewing.
On CoreHost the library runs with its own storage, hosted in Sydney, the US or Poland, with daily backups, SFTP access to your original files and updates handled for you. It is closed by default: you sign in as admin with a password generated for you before it first starts, and nobody sees your photos without signing in. Finding faces and converting RAW files is heavy work, so the library starts on the Power plan.

Moving to CoreHostMove your existing Photo library here
Already running Photo library on PikaPods, a VPS or your own server? You can bring your data with you. Deploy the app here first, then follow the route below, and keep your old app until you are happy.
Copy your files across
Copy your originals over SFTP into the originals folder, then run Library and Index. Albums and labels live in PhotoPrism's index; open a ticket if you want to bring those too.
Ways to move it
- Do it yourself. Deploy Photo library, let it start once, then use the steps on this page, with SFTP and the file manager in the Files tab. A backup taken first gives you a clean point to go back to.
- Ask us to move it. Open a ticket from your control panel with the app and where it runs now. Support will tell you what can be moved and help you do it, and nobody touches your old app.
Coming from PikaPods? Switch on SFTP in the pod's settings, stop the pod and copy its files; PikaPods documents this as its manual backup for migrations.
