How do I create my account?

Open your Linkwarden address and choose Sign Up straight away. The first account created becomes the administrator. Then turn on Turn off new sign-ups in the app's Settings on CoreHost so nobody else can register. The administrator can still add people from inside Linkwarden.

Can I bring my Pocket or browser bookmarks across?

Yes. Under Settings in Linkwarden you can import a browser bookmarks HTML export, a Pocket export, Omnivore, Wallabag or another Linkwarden. Imported links are archived in the background, a few at a time.

Which plan do I need?

Standard is the minimum. Linkwarden uses around 450 MB at rest and a little more while the browser archives a page, which leaves comfortable headroom on 2 GB. Power or Scale suit large imports or several people saving at once, and you can raise the number of links archived at the same time in Settings.

Does the browser extension work with my own instance?

Yes. Install the Linkwarden extension for Chrome, Firefox or Edge, enter your Linkwarden address and sign in. The iOS and Android apps work the same way.

Can I turn archiving off to save space?

Yes. Each person can choose which formats to keep under Settings, Preferences in Linkwarden. To switch the archiving browser off entirely, use Turn off page archiving in the app's Danger Zone on CoreHost; bookmarks, tags and search keep working.

Where are the archived pages stored?

On your instance's own storage, in the data folder, and they are included in the daily backups. You can reach them over SFTP at any time.

Who keeps Linkwarden updated?

We do. Curated updates roll out shortly after upstream releases and are tested on our platform first; security fixes move fast. If an update changes behaviour in a breaking way, we email you before it lands.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Take a final export or SFTP copy any time before you cancel. After termination we keep your data for 14 days (in case you change your mind), then purge it, backups included.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. Point a CNAME at your instance, prove ownership with a TXT record, and TLS certificates are issued automatically. Cloudflare-proxied domains work; if you use CAA records, allow letsencrypt.org.

Linkwarden is a bookmark manager that keeps a copy of every page you save. Each link is archived as a screenshot, a PDF, a full HTML snapshot and a clean readable version, so the article is still there after the site changes, goes behind a paywall or disappears.

Organise links into collections and tags, search across titles, descriptions and tags, highlight passages in the readable view, and share collections with family or a team. Save from the browser extension, the iOS and Android apps or the web app, subscribe to RSS feeds, and import what you already have from a browser export, Pocket, Omnivore or Wallabag.

On CoreHost, Linkwarden runs with its own PostgreSQL database and its archiving browser inside the same instance, so there is nothing extra to set up. The browser only starts when a link needs archiving and closes again once the queue is empty, which keeps the app light the rest of the time.

Add an API key from OpenAI or any OpenAI compatible service in the app settings and Linkwarden will suggest tags for new links. Usage is billed by your AI provider, and it stays off until you add a key.
