GoToSocialWhat you're getting
GoToSocial is a lightweight server for the fediverse, the open network that Mastodon, Pixelfed, Misskey and thousands of other servers share. You get a social account at your own address, you can follow and be followed by people on any other server, and you post short notes with pictures, videos and polls from almost any Mastodon-compatible app, such as Tusky, Ivory, Elk or Phanpy.
It is built for small servers: yours, your family's or your community's. You choose who may reply to or boost each post, who sees it, and which other servers yours talks to, and you get moderation tools for blocking people and whole servers. It needs a fraction of the memory a full Mastodon install does.
On CoreHost, GoToSocial runs on its own server in Sydney or Poland and starts closed: one admin account with a generated password, no open sign-up, and a setting that decides whether your server talks to the whole fediverse or only to servers you allow. We handle the server, TLS, updates and daily backups.

Ways to move it
- Do it yourself. Deploy GoToSocial, let it start once, then use the steps on this page, with SFTP and the file manager in the Files tab. A backup taken first gives you a clean point to go back to.
- Ask us to move it. Open a ticket from your control panel with the app and where it runs now. Support will tell you what can be moved and help you do it, and nobody touches your old app.
Coming from PikaPods? Switch on SFTP in the pod's settings, stop the pod and copy its files; PikaPods documents this as its manual backup for migrations.
