Glance is a self-hosted dashboard that puts everything you check every day on one fast page: RSS feeds and news, Hacker News and Lobsters, the weather and world clocks, stock and crypto prices, YouTube channel updates, GitHub release trackers, a bookmarks launcher, a calendar and uptime checks for your own websites. It is one small program, loads in a fraction of a second and looks good on a phone.
You arrange the whole dashboard with a single text file. On CoreHost you edit dashboard.yml over SFTP and the page reloads within seconds. If you save a mistake, your last working dashboard keeps showing and a note next to the file tells you what to fix, so you cannot break it by experimenting.
Glance has no sign-in of its own unless you set one up, so on CoreHost it is private from the first second: your dashboard is locked behind a password generated for your instance. The widgets fetch feeds and sites for you, and every request goes through a guard that refuses private and internal addresses, so your dashboard cannot be turned into a way to reach other servers. We handle the server, TLS, updates and daily backups, hosted in Sydney or Poland.

Already running Glance on PikaPods, a VPS or your own server? You can bring your data with you. Deploy the app here first, then follow the route below, and keep your old app until you are happy.
Copy your files across
Your whole dashboard is the single file dashboard.yml. Upload your own copy over SFTP, plus any icons or images into the assets folder, and restart the app.
Ways to move it
- Do it yourself. Deploy Glance, let it start once, then use the steps on this page, with SFTP and the file manager in the Files tab. A backup taken first gives you a clean point to go back to.
- Ask us to move it. Open a ticket from your control panel with the app and where it runs now. Support will tell you what can be moved and help you do it, and nobody touches your old app.
Coming from PikaPods? Switch on SFTP in the pod's settings, stop the pod and copy its files; PikaPods documents this as its manual backup for migrations.
