How do I sign in to EverShelf?

EverShelf has no user accounts. Your app is locked with an access code that CoreHost generated for you, shown on your app page. The first time you open EverShelf on a phone, tablet or computer it asks you to pair the device: paste the code once and the browser remembers it.

Can my family share one EverShelf?

Yes. Everyone in the household pairs their own device with the same access code and sees the same pantry and shopping list. There are no separate accounts per person, so share the code only with people you trust.

What if I want to cut off a device or the code leaks?

Set a new access code in the app's settings on CoreHost and restart the app. Every paired device is signed out, and each one needs the new code to pair again.

Do the AI features cost extra?

CoreHost does not charge for them and does not provide a key. They use your own Google Gemini or OpenAI key, which you add under Settings and which is billed by that provider. Without a key, barcode scanning, stock, expiry dates and shopping lists all work; reading photos and AI recipe ideas need one.

Can I bring in what I already track?

Yes. Import a CSV file of your stock under Settings, or scan and type items in. You can export your data as a file at any time.

Is there a phone app?

EverShelf runs in your phone's browser and can be added to the home screen like an app. The project also publishes an Android kiosk app for wall tablets, which you can find on its GitHub page.

Who keeps EverShelf updated?

We do. Curated updates roll out shortly after upstream releases and are tested on our platform first; security fixes move fast. If an update changes behaviour in a breaking way, we email you before it lands.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Take a final export or SFTP copy any time before you cancel. After termination we keep your data for 14 days (in case you change your mind), then purge it, backups included.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. Point a CNAME at your instance, prove ownership with a TXT record, and TLS certificates are issued automatically. Cloudflare-proxied domains work; if you use CAA records, allow letsencrypt.org.

EverShelf is a self-hosted pantry and grocery inventory manager for a household. Add what you buy by scanning its barcode with your phone camera or typing it in, record where it is kept and when it expires, and see at a glance what is running low or about to go off.

It builds a shopping list from what is finished, keeps a log of what was used and thrown away, and can suggest recipes from what you already have. The optional AI features, such as reading an expiry date or a receipt from a photo, use your own Google Gemini or OpenAI key and stay off until you add one. EverShelf is available in several languages, including English, Italian, German, Spanish and Chinese.

On CoreHost, EverShelf runs with its own storage, hosted in Sydney or Poland. EverShelf has no user accounts, so your instance is locked with an access code generated for you before the app first starts: nobody can see or change your pantry without it, and you enter it once on each device. We handle the server, TLS, updates and daily backups.

Do it yourself. Deploy EverShelf, let it start once, then use the steps on this page, with SFTP and the file manager in the Files tab. A backup taken first gives you a clean point to go back to.
Ask us to move it. Open a ticket from your control panel with the app and where it runs now. Support will tell you what can be moved and help you do it, and nobody touches your old app.

Coming from PikaPods? Switch on SFTP in the pod's settings, stop the pod and copy its files; PikaPods documents this as its manual backup for migrations.
