Mealie gives your recipes a permanent home. Paste a link from almost any recipe site and the importer pulls out the ingredients, steps, times and photo, leaving the life-story preamble and the ad walls behind. Everything lands in one clean, searchable library you can tag, rate, organise into cookbooks, and edit to match how you actually cook.
The meal planner is where it earns its keep: drag recipes onto the week, then generate a shopping list that combines the ingredients for everything you planned. Households are built in, so your partner or family sign in with their own accounts and share the same library and plan, and a full REST API with access tokens connects it to Home Assistant and anything else you automate.
Built-in migrations import your existing collection from Paprika, Nextcloud Cookbook, Tandoor, Plan to Eat, Copy Me That and more, so switching is an afternoon, not a retyping project. We run the official image, hosted in Sydney or Poland, with managed updates and daily backups (encrypted backups are stored in the EU), and the whole library lives in a single SQLite database on your instance volume.
Mealie ships with a public default login that every install shares. On CoreHost it is replaced with a password generated for your instance before the app first starts, so nobody can walk in with it. Mealie is an independent open source project and CoreHost is not affiliated with it.

Already running Mealie on PikaPods, a VPS or your own server? You can bring your data with you. Deploy the app here first, then follow the route below, and keep your old app until you are happy.
Use Mealie's own import
Open the Data Migrations page to import full exports from Paprika, Nextcloud Cookbook, Tandoor, Plan to Eat, Copy Me That and more, or use Import with URL for single recipes. To move from another Mealie, download a backup from its Admin Settings and restore it here, using the same version.
Ways to move it
- Do it yourself. Deploy Mealie, let it start once, then use the steps on this page, with SFTP and the file manager in the Files tab. A backup taken first gives you a clean point to go back to.
- Ask us to move it. Open a ticket from your control panel with the app and where it runs now. Support will tell you what can be moved and help you do it, and nobody touches your old app.
Coming from PikaPods? Switch on SFTP in the pod's settings, stop the pod and copy its files; PikaPods documents this as its manual backup for migrations.
