Immich gives you a Google Photos style experience on infrastructure you control. The iOS and Android apps back up your camera roll automatically, then everything appears in a fast timeline with albums, favourites, a world map of where each shot was taken, and search that actually finds things. Your memories become ordinary files that are simply yours, not someone else's training data and product roadmap.

Upload from every device in the household and Immich organises it all: background mobile backup, shared and partner albums, a people and places view, and RAW and live photo support. Tell us what you are moving

Immich moves with its own backup and restore: the photo folders plus a database backup. This is a large move, so open a ticket first and tell us roughly how big your library is. The Immich phone app can also upload your camera roll to the new server once you sign in.

  • Do it yourself. Deploy Immich, let it start once, then use the steps on this page, with SFTP and the file manager in the Files tab. A backup taken first gives you a clean point to go back to.
  • Ask us to move it. Open a ticket from your control panel with the app and where it runs now. Support will tell you what can be moved and help you do it, and nobody touches your old app.

Coming from PikaPods? Switch on SFTP in the pod's settings, stop the pod and copy its files; PikaPods documents this as its manual backup for migrations.
