WordPress runs everything from a one page portfolio to a busy online shop. You choose a theme, write in the block editor, and add plugins for contact forms, SEO, bookings, memberships or WooCommerce. It is open source under the GPL, so your site, your content and your database are always yours to move.
On CoreHost your site is installed before you first open it. MariaDB runs inside the same app, a strong admin password is generated for you and shown in the panel, and the web installer is locked, so nobody else can claim a fresh site. WordPress keeps itself patched with security releases, and a database dump is written to your files every six hours on top of the daily backups.
The fixes that usually need a support ticket are settings in the panel: the site address after you connect your own domain (stored links are rewritten for you), upload size, PHP memory, debug logging, outgoing email through your SMTP provider, and an admin password reset for when you are locked out and email is not set up.

Tell us what you are moving
Use a WordPress migration plugin, or Tools, Import for content from another WordPress site. Themes, plugins and uploads live in the www/wp-content folder, which you can also reach over SFTP. A full database move needs a ticket.
Ways to move it
- Do it yourself. Deploy WordPress, let it start once, then use the steps on this page, with SFTP and the file manager in the Files tab. A backup taken first gives you a clean point to go back to.
- Ask us to move it. Open a ticket from your control panel with the app and where it runs now. Support will tell you what can be moved and help you do it, and nobody touches your old app.
