Do I still need a cookie banner?

For Umami itself, usually not: it sets no cookies and stores no personal identifiers. Other tools on your site may still need consent, so check your own obligations.

Can I track more than one website?

Yes. Add as many sites as you like under Settings, each with its own dashboard and share link. Very busy sites should use Standard or Power so reports stay quick.

Is the database included?

Yes. Umami needs PostgreSQL, and it runs inside your app with nothing extra to pay for or manage. A snapshot of it is written every six hours to a db-backup folder you can download over SFTP.

What if an ad blocker blocks the tracking script?

Set an extra tracker script name and a custom collection path in the app's settings on CoreHost, then update the script tag on your site. Many blockers only look for the default names.

Can I import my Google Analytics history?

Umami has no importer for Google Analytics data, so most people run both side by side for a few weeks and then switch. Your Umami data is available through its API from day one.

I forgot the admin password. What now?

Set a new admin password in the app's settings on CoreHost and restart the app. The admin account is reset to that password on the next start.

Who keeps Umami updated?

We do. Curated updates roll out shortly after upstream releases and are tested on our platform first; security fixes move fast. If an update changes behaviour in a breaking way, we email you before it lands.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Take a final export or SFTP copy any time before you cancel. After termination we keep your data for 14 days (in case you change your mind), then purge it, backups included.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. Point a CNAME at your instance, prove ownership with a TXT record, and TLS certificates are issued automatically. Cloudflare-proxied domains work; if you use CAA records, allow letsencrypt.org.

Umami shows the numbers most site owners actually check: page views, visitors, where they came from, which pages they read and which buttons they click. It does it on one clear dashboard, without cookies and without collecting personal identifiers, so for most sites the analytics consent banner can go.

The tracking script is a few kilobytes and loads after your page, so it does not slow anything down. One instance tracks as many websites as you like, with custom events, goals, funnels, UTM reports and read-only share links for clients or colleagues.
