Can listmonk send email by itself?

No. listmonk sends through an SMTP provider you connect under Settings, on port 587 or 465. Hosting server addresses have a poor sending reputation with the big inbox providers, so a dedicated email service is the reliable way to reach inboxes.

Which email providers work?

Any provider with SMTP access, such as Amazon SES, Postmark, Mailgun, SendGrid, Brevo or your own mail host. You can add more than one, and listmonk can spread sending across them.

How many subscribers can I have?

There is no subscriber limit from us or from listmonk. The app itself is light; for very large lists or high sending rates, choose Standard or Power so imports and sends stay quick.

Can I move my list from Mailchimp?

Yes. Export your audience from Mailchimp as a CSV file and import it under Subscribers, then Import. Leave unsubscribed and cleaned contacts out of the import.

Is the public sign-up form protected from bots?

Yes. The built-in captcha is on by default for public forms, and you can turn the public subscription page off in the app's settings on CoreHost if you only import subscribers.

I forgot the admin password. What now?

Set a new admin password in the app's settings on CoreHost and restart the app. The admin account is reset to that password on the next start.

Who keeps listmonk updated?

We do. Curated updates roll out shortly after upstream releases and are tested on our platform first; security fixes move fast. If an update changes behaviour in a breaking way, we email you before it lands.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Take a final export or SFTP copy any time before you cancel. After termination we keep your data for 14 days (in case you change your mind), then purge it, backups included.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. Point a CNAME at your instance, prove ownership with a TXT record, and TLS certificates are issued automatically. Cloudflare-proxied domains work; if you use CAA records, allow letsencrypt.org.

listmonkWhat you're getting

listmonk is a self-hosted newsletter and mailing list manager. Keep your subscribers in lists, segment them with simple queries, write campaigns in a rich text, Markdown or HTML editor and send them through your own email provider. Opens, clicks and bounces are tracked, and subscribers get double opt-in, unsubscribe and preference pages.

There is no per-subscriber pricing. A list of a few hundred readers costs the same to host as one of a few hundred thousand, and you pay your email provider only for what you send. Transactional templates and a REST API let your site send receipts and notices through the same system.

On CoreHost, listmonk runs with its own PostgreSQL database inside your app, hosted in Sydney or Poland, so subscriber data stays on your own instance. The admin account is created with a generated password before the app first starts, so there is no open setup page. We handle the server, TLS, updates and daily backups.

Ask us to move it. Open a ticket from your control panel with the app and where it runs now. Support will tell you what can be moved and help you do it, and nobody touches your old app.
