changedetection.io watches the web pages you care about and tells you the moment something changes: a price drop, a restock, a job listing, a tender notice, a competitor quietly editing their pricing page. Each alert shows a highlighted diff of exactly what changed, so you act on the change instead of hunting for it.
Hosted monitors usually charge by the page or the check, so watching more than a handful of pages gets expensive. Your own changedetection.io instance has no per-page charge: one flat monthly price covers the instance. CSS, XPath and JSON selectors narrow a watch to the part of the page that matters, and keyword triggers cut the noise.
On CoreHost it runs in Sydney, the US or Poland with its own storage, and we handle the server, TLS and updates. A tool that fetches any address you give it must never sit open on the internet, so your instance asks for a password from the very first visit, generated for you. To keep the shared servers safe it will not fetch from, or send notifications to, private network addresses, and it checks a page at most once a minute.
One honest limitation: we run changedetection.io without a Chrome browser attached, so sites that only show their content after JavaScript runs cannot be monitored unless you connect a browser service you already run, such as Browserless, in your app's settings. Most ordinary pages, feeds and APIs work fine, and support can tell you quickly whether a specific site will.

Use changedetection.io's own import
Use Import to paste a list of page addresses, one per line, and changedetection.io creates a watch for each. To move an existing instance, create a backup zip on the old one from its Backups page and restore it here. Global settings and the app password are not part of the import.
Ways to move it
- Do it yourself. Deploy changedetection.io, let it start once, then use the steps on this page, with SFTP and the file manager in the Files tab. A backup taken first gives you a clean point to go back to.
- Ask us to move it. Open a ticket from your control panel with the app and where it runs now. Support will tell you what can be moved and help you do it, and nobody touches your old app.
Coming from PikaPods? Switch on SFTP in the pod's settings, stop the pod and copy its files; PikaPods documents this as its manual backup for migrations.
